Don Visness sets new clean card record

Don Visness apparently has found the secret to keeping a scorecard. For a record third time, Visness won the Cleanest Scorecard Contest at Tuesday's ASGA Individual Tournament held at Jimmy Clay Golf Course. He was keeping the scorecard for Bobby Johnson. Visness was tied with two wins each with Roy January and Ed Edmunds as the only members to have won multiple times and he used the last opportunity of the contest to set the new record.

According to the contest chairman, Travis McWhorter, Tuesday's contest was the last in the current season and for the foreseeable future. McWhorter is considering some changes to the contest if the ASGA decides to continue it in the future.
McWhorter thinks that the contest has had a positive affect on the efforts of the members to hand in cleaner scorecards and could be considered a success. Steve Hammond, heading up the staff at Jimmy Clay, picked Visness' card out of several more that were in consideration. His selection made Visness the only person selected by more than one course professional. McWhorter expressed his thoughts on the selection and future contest, "At some point in the future we will likely revisit and add some new wrinkles to the contest and try it again. I do not know if it will include a Hall of Fame, but if so you (Visness) should be considered with your great three wins."
