Roy January has had a good year. Even though Christmas is still around the corner, January has already wrapped up half of the Grand Prix Team Championship for 2015 and now has shown that he can win in other events other than golf. January's score-keeping skills were on display at Tuesday's first individual tournament of the year. The Lions golfing staff has chosen January as the winner of the cleanest
scorecard for the November 24th tournament. January was keeping the scorecard for Eddie Nunez. This makes January the first repeat performer since the contest began back in the middle of the summer.
Travis McWhorter, the current ASGA Vice-President and the member in charge of the Cleanest Scorecard Contest, indicated, "This speaks highly of Roy's consistency. There are only five more tournaments to go for this contest this year before it will be evaluated for renewal. The contest has caused members to step up their level of scorekeeping."
Jimmy Olivares of the Lions Golf Course staff believes in the program too. "The idea of the cleanest scorecard is a good one. It definitely has helped in trying to decipher scores," he said.
January will now be able to use his win to get another free bucket of range balls at the next ASGA tournament.
