Don Visness had more of a battle on his hands than just his golf Tuesday at the Lions Course two-man select tournament. He was determined to win the cleanest scorecard contest and he did just that for the first time. Admitting that he had the toughest competition within his own group, Visness said, "I believe my playing companion was my chief competition". Visness was keeping the scorecard of Bobby Johnson and Sam Jenkins and used his new-found penmanship to
capture the contest prize of a free bucket of balls at his next tournament. His scorecard contained only his playing companions scores and nothing else and was without any additional marks on the card. His partner, Travis McWhorter, kept any additional scores on a separate card which eliminated the possibility for more errors on Visness' winning scorecard.
The Cleanest Scorecard Contest has been a rousing success. ASGA board members and golf course officials continue to praise the pregame and its goal to provide for clean scorecards for counting and verifying.
