Burks and January take the Team Grand Prix title

Chester Burks and Roy January were 2.5 points behind the team of Don Visness and Travis McWhorter going into the final tournament of the Team Grand Prix. Having led the team GP standings for most of the season, Burks and January picked up nine points with a high finish in their flight at the Two-man Select tournament held at the Lions Golf Course and it was just enough to put them back on top for good. Burks and January finished with 138.5 points and the championship.

Visness and McWhorter finished in second place with a 134 point total. Robert Stojanik and Ben Taylor rounded out the three teams that were the only ones with a chance at the title in the season-ending tournament. Stojanik and Taylor held on to third place scoring 119.5 points.
Alton Franklin and Wayne Patterson finished in fourth place with 103 points while John Hirsch and Terence Donovan took fifth with 99.5 points. Tim McGillicuddy and Bob Davis had 94.5 points and sixth place. A tie took up the seventh and eighth spots with the teams of Jerrwood Marshall/Ray Harper and Eddie Nunez/Carl Givens each scoring 93.5 points. Bob Chapa and Tommy Warner finished with 93 points while LD Washington and Troy Collins rounded out the top ten with 92.5 points.
